Sigrid Schauman (1877–1979) lived an exceptionally long life, and her impact on the art world of Finland in her time is not negligible, either. Sometimes even called the Cézanne of the north, this modernist and reformer of art has been strangely sidelined: no extensive looks into her works have been published before this. This is why the biography written by Camilla Granbacka is a welcome addition to Finnish art history.
