The Lallukka artist home was built in Töölö, Helsinki in 1933 with funds from the late business figures and art patrons Maria and Juho Lallukka. The first to move into the modern functionalist building included Eero Nelimarkka, Ester Helenius and Ellen Thesleff and more than 130 visual artist have since lived in the building. 

You can take a sneak peek at life in the Lallukka artist home from the 1930s to the modern day in the book published by HAM and Parvs Publishing Company with plenty of illustrations. Art historian Marja Lahelma’s book Lallukka – Life in the Home of Artists tells an immersive story of the different phases of the artist home, the fates of its residents and the art created in the building. Hardcover book, size 16.5 x 23 x 2, 195 pages.
